《引山入視》展覽 “Lead The Mountain Into The Eyes” Exhibition

date of issue:2021-06-16

“A whole group of mountains began to appear in gigantic fragments. Gradually, very gradually, we saw the great mountain sides and glaciers and aretes, now one fragment and now another through the floating rifts, until far higher in the sky than imagination had dared to suggest the white summit of Everest appeared.”-from Mountains of the Mind by Robert MacFarlane, quoting George Mallory

In order to pursue his own cultural roots, a boy in Taiwan sets out to find his own sacred mountain. Ascending to the peaks, surrounded by scenery equally beautiful and brutal, he records poetically his adventure in the mountains.

That mountain is Papak Waqa (Dabajian Mountain), the holy mountain of the Atayal people.

The boy is the photographer Dumas Temu.
